We were asked to provide livestreaming services for an event at the prestigious Royal Institution featuring NASA Astronaut James Pawelczyk, so those not lucky enough to get a ticket could watch from home via YouTube.
Having tested the speed of the connection before the shoot, we ran two streams via separate Apple Macs, each running Wirecast. This way should there be an issue with the first stream, the second would take over with no interruption to the livestream.
We also provided vision mixing, monitoring and recording equipment so the Director could vision mix the two live cameras and the presenter’s slides, as well as adding overlay graphics where necessary in Wirecast.
We gave the camera operator a monitor so they would know when they could safely re-position their shot, and made an HD recording of the mixed live edit for the editor. This allowed the client to get the most out of the footage by combining the mixed edit with ISO recordings taken from the cameras and producing extra shorter cuts for social media. This could then be used to drive traffic to the archived version of the event, once it was over.

Just before lockdown occurred in March 2020, our client Branch Road asked us to help them with a project for their client Service Now.
What had been due to be a large conference, was now being re-imagined as a live webinar, using the key speakers who were due to appear at the event.
We were able to supply kit and crew to vision mix, camera operate, light and livestream the event which included two socially distanced speakers in the room,
as well as a number of guests who appeared virtually via Zoom.
As this was a first for the end client, we were also on hand to film some extra footage they could use to put together a behind-the-scenes video of how the event was staged.
Filming extra content like this is one of several ways to make your live content go even further.
