Our solution was to deploy one of our LiveU boxes which use a number of SIM cards to send signals (via 4G) from the camera to a bonding service that combines the individual signals into a single consistant (1920×1080) HD feed. This feed is forwarded to a streaming service for the client to view through a secure password protected portal, customised to refelect their brand.
On the ground, the camera operator was provided with a small backpack containing the LiveU unit that was switched on once the crew reached a new location. As the unit can be operated remotely, there was no need to add another member of the crew, which helped not only with COVID-19 security, but also with Westminster Council’s strict street filming regulations and the limited crew allowed into the National Portrait Gallery when it came to filming the interview.
During the shoot, the Producer was able to take notes from the client (via Whatsapp) as the shoot happened, feeding their notes to the talent and crew for subsequent takes.
